“Climate change is something UK energy networks are working hard to adapt to today. They are implementing dedicated climate change resilience strategies and undertaking extensive programmes of work to ensure our network remains resilient through periods of high wind, flood or extreme heat.
“The UK’s energy network is well positioned to operate as temperatures increase because UK network infrastructure is designed and built to international standards and as such will function in environments with higher peak temperatures than we typically see in the UK today. Networks will continue to focus on innovation and investment in resilience programmes to help ensure a reliable energy system at the least cost to the consumer.”
