Conservatives Big Energy Debate Fringe

For immediate release – Wednesday 1 October 2014

ENA is partnering with The Guardian as part of its 'Big Energy Debate', which has seen a number of regional and Westminster discussions over the course of the year. At the Labour party conference in Manchester last week, shadow energy secretary Caroline Flint announced a string of measures in an prospective Labour government’s “war on cold homes”. But speaking at a Guardian fringe event at the Conservative party’s annual gathering in Birmingham this week, Baroness Verma, parliamentary under-secretary for energy and climate change, defended her party’s quieter approach to the politics of energy.
