Network innovation features in Labour policy discussion ‘Hot Book'

For immediate release – Monday 23 September 2013

The Labour Energy Team has launched its latest policy discussion ‘the Hot Book’ at their party conference in Brighton this week. ENA Chief Executive David Smith was asked to contribute a chapter on how the networks are delivering efficiencies for consumers through smart grid development.

Achieving a low carbon energy future that is secure and affordable will rely on the ability of our networks to innovate and evolve. The centrality of network innovation to energy efficiency has been re-emphasised by the Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Environment, Rt Hon Caroline Flint MP, as she launched the Hot Book, a policy discussion on the future of energy in the UK.

David authors Shaping a Smarter Future in this important publication by the Labour frontbench team. The chapter discusses what a real smarter network will be in the future; delivering low carbon, secure energy at a low cost.

The book can be downloaded here.
