ENA launches #energynetworks facts campaign

Release: 25/09/17 0001

Energy Networks Association will today launch its #energynetworks social media campaign that sets out key facts about the UK’s energy networks' track record in seven areas.

Responsible for owning and operating some £62bn of assets, energy network companies play a vital role in delivering the gas and electricity to homes, businesses and communities that are the lifeblood of our economy.

A series of infographics and blogs will show how since the UK’s energy networks market was created in 1990, the companies have improved levels of network performance and attracted new investment that has created jobs in communities across the country, whilst driving down costs for the energy bill payer. Customer satisfaction levels for network companies currently stand at more than 85%; higher than most high-street retailers.

Shared using Twitter (@energynetworks) and LinkedIn by both ENA and its 15 member companies, the week long campaign will set out this contribution in seven key areas:

Prioritising safety

  • Delivering value for money
  • World leading performance
  • Cornerstone of economy
  • Serving customers
  • Innovating for the future
  • Enabling the UK energy future

Commenting, ENA Chief Executive David Smith comments:

“The facts speak for themselves – since 1990 the UK’s energy network companies have developed a strong track record in delivering for households, businesses and communities in all corners of the country. It is a real success story not just for the companies themselves but for the UK as a whole.

“From delivering value for money and new investment to developing new ground-breaking approaches for safety in the workplace, the UK’s energy network companies have built a track record that is the envy of many other countries around the world. That’s why we’re pleased to be launching this campaign today that will clearly set out the important role they are playing.”
