NPSs ensures the energy networks are on track to deliver

The Network companies were heartened today by the launch of a re-consultation on the Energy National Policy Statements.

ENA Chief Executive David Smith said:

"We welcome the certainty that the re-consultation on the National Policy Statements (NPSs) on energy will be bring. Getting planning right is crucial to delivery of vital energy projects. The NPSs are central to underpinning the new planning system.

"Today's announcement is a significant step in achieveing this. We have long said that the key to delivering effective planning reform is ensuring the NPSs have the necessary democratic accountability. The process begining today will ensure this."
