The 105 service

In 2016, we launched a new free-to-dial number for customers. 105, when called from England, Wales or Scotland, connects callers with their local network operator.

Many people don’t know they should contact their local electricity network operator if they have a power cut. They often mistakenly call the electricity supplier they pay their bills to. That’s why the electricity network operators introduced 105 – to give customers an easy-to-remember number to call that will put them through to the local people who can help.

The service is free and the technology behind it is operated by Energy Networks Association (ENA). Accompanying the number is the PowerCut105.com website, also operated by ENA, which provides customers with information on what to do in a power cut, as well as a tool to look up who their network operator is by entering a postcode.
